The Pantaloons Present...
"The (Almost) Complete History of Britain"
Friday 22nd May
6:30pm

Theatre on the Farm, Thame, OX93SH

About the Show...

Mud, blood and stiff upper-lips!

Join the critically-acclaimed Pantaloons Theatre Company on a breathless race through the centuries in this delightfully inventive show that tells the entire story of Britain in under 2 hours.

Have you ever wanted to see the life of Henry VIII told as a romantic comedy or the tale of the Spanish Armada reimagined as a light operetta? Probably not. But that won’t stop The Pantaloons retelling great moments from the country’s past in a variety of surprising genres! Featuring live music, audience interaction and wild historical inaccuracy.

“Laugh-out-loud funny… endless verve and utterly infectious joy.” Northwich Guardian

We are so excited to host “The Pantaloons” at Theatre on the Farm this year.

This Performance is a great opportunity to welcome adults and children to the world of outdoor Theatre, with plenty of beautiful nature to explore pre/post show too. We also have an indoor "extreme" wet weather option for this particular performance.

Seating is unassigned and you will need to bring with you your own chairs or picnic blankets to sit on to enjoy the show.

You are of course welcome to bring your own picnic to enjoy throughout the show, as well as purchase snacks and drinks from our Theatre on the Farm bar.

FAQs

SEATING?

FOOD AND DRINK?

TOILETS?

AGE SUITABILITY?

PARKING?

Please make sure to bring your own seating. This could be a picnic blanket if you'd like a more flexible pitch right at the front of the action or picnic chairs which you can set up just behind the picnic blankets. Seating is unassigned and therefore is first come first served. When you arrive, simply find a spot. The performance takes place in a field right next to the carpark, so it's only a short walk with your chairs and picnics. However we'd be happy to help you carry things from the carpark when you arrive if you need some extra help.

You are welcome to bring your own picnics to enjoy before, during or after the show. We think this is all part of the magic and excitement of outdoor theatre. At this performance our Theatre on the Farm Bar will also have snacks and drinks available to purchase.

A compost toilet is available for use in the same field as the performance.

Adults and children 7-107!  Children and infants of all ages are welcome, there is no unsuitable content in this production, it just might not be as enjoyable for younger children.

There is parking available on the farm. However, please note the entrance to the farm is a little hidden from the busy Long Crendon Rd. The farm is also reachable on foot or by bike from Thame, just be mindful when crossing the busy roundabout.

Just like any open-air theatre we embrace the weather as audience and actors. We will not cancel, refund or pause a show because of a little rain or wind. In the event that the weather becomes dangerous for our actors, we will initially postpone the start time of the performance . If we have a wild tempest during the performance we will simply pause the show to allow the weather to settle, offer you shelter and resume where we left off. If torrential rain refuses to let up we will move the whole performance to a nearby area on the farm under cover.

WEATHER?

WHAT TO BRING?

Umbrellas and waterproofs. Sunhats, sunglasses and sun cream. Be prepared for all British weather.

We want this show to be as welcoming and inclusive as possible. The performance takes place in a grassy field, accessed via a gentle but noticeable slope. We have previously been able to get mobility scooters and wheelchairs down into the space, however the return journey back up the slope can be challenging and may require assistance.

Accessible toilets are located in the nearby car park, which would involve travelling back up the slope from the performance area.

Access needs are individual, and we’re very happy to discuss the site and options with you in advance so you can decide whether this experience will work for you. Please feel free to get in touch before booking.
