About the Show...

This spring, Theatre on the Farm welcomes "Shakespeare from the Park" from The Living Theatre, a joyful, open air celebration of the Bard.

Fresh from festival success, this lively 105 minute production weaves together songs, swooning speeches and dramatic showdowns from across Shakespeare’s canon. Expect romance, rivalry, comedy and chaos, all performed by a cast of dynamic actors who transform the simplest setting into a stage fit for kings and fools alike.

Bring a picnic, a blanket and a camp chair, and settle in for an evening of theatre under the sky. Perfect for the whole family, and rooted in The Living Theatre’s signature blend of creativity, community and sustainable design.

Shakespeare, served with fresh air and a generous helping of fun. 🌿🎭

ACCESSIBILITY?

Please make sure to bring your own seating. This could be a picnic blanket if you'd like a more flexible pitch right at the front of the action or picnic chairs which you can set up just behind the picnic blankets. Seating is unassigned and therefore is first come first served. When you arrive, simply find a spot. The performance takes place in a field right next to the carpark, so it's only a short walk with your chairs and picnics. However we'd be happy to help you carry things from the carpark when you arrive if you need some extra help.

You are welcome to bring your own picnics to enjoy before, during or after the show. We think this is all part of the magic and excitement of outdoor theatre. At this performance there will be a bar available to purchase additional drinks and snacks.

A compost toilet is available for use in the same field as the performance.

This performance is suitable for adults and children of all ages.

There is parking available on the farm. We will endeavour to sign post clearly and have marshals to assist you. However, please note the entrance to the farm is a little hidden from the busy Long Crendon Rd. The farm is also reachable on foot or by bike from Thame, just be mindful when crossing the busy roundabout.

Just like any open-air theatre we embrace the weather as audience and actors. We will not cancel, refund or pause a show because of rain. In the event that the weather becomes dangerous for our actors we will postpone the start time of the performance. If we have a wild tempest during the performance we will simply pause the show to allow the weather to settle, offer you shelter and resume where we left off.

Umbrellas and waterproofs. Sunhats, sunglasses and sun cream. Be prepared for all British weather.

We want this show to be as welcoming and inclusive as possible. The performance takes place in a grassy field, accessed via a gentle but noticeable slope. We have previously been able to get mobility scooters and wheelchairs down into the space, however the return journey back up the slope can be challenging and may require assistance.

Accessible toilets are located in the nearby car park, which would involve travelling back up the slope from the performance area.

Access needs are individual, and we’re very happy to discuss the site and options with you in advance so you can decide whether this experience will work for you. Please feel free to get in touch before booking.
