The clue points will be fairly close together, so the quest won't involve walking long distances. Please note that the route includes natural farm terrain, which may contain uneven surfaces, slopes, rabbit holes, tree roots, long grass, mud and other countryside hazards that can vary depending on weather conditions.
Please dress for the weather and wear suitable footwear.
There is no sheltered waiting are outside the yurt. However, fallow and fields kitchen is right next door, subject to it's opening hours and availability. Please arrive ready for your booked start time.
Toilets are available at various locations on site.
This is an experience for children of all ages and their grown ups to enjoy together. Younger children can enjoy the storytelling and look out for discoveries and older children can take on more of the puzzles and clues.
There is parking available on the farm. However, please note the entrance to the farm is a little hidden from the busy Long Crendon Rd. The farm is also reachable on foot or by bike from Thame, just be mindful when crossing the busy roundabout.
The experience begins with storytelling inside our cosy, heated mongolian yurt. The quest is outdoors and will go ahead in wet or cold weather, so please dress appropriately. Where possible clue points will be under shelter, but walking between them will be outdoors.
Father Christmas is very busy getting ready for his big journey, so he won’t be visiting us at The Christmas Quest. But there will still be plenty of Christmas magic to discover as you meet our fairy and set off on your festive adventure!
We want this show to be as welcoming and inclusive as possible. The nature of this performance involves some travelling around farmland. Access needs are individual, and we’re very happy to discuss the site and options with you in advance so you can decide whether this experience will work for you. Please feel free to get in touch before booking. By booking tickets, audience members acknowledge that this is an outdoor performance involving walking across farmland and natural terrain.
Please allow approximately one hour for the whole Christmas Quest. This includes the interactive storytelling session inside the yurt and the self-guided outdoor quest around the farm, which you can enjoy at your own pace.
We wouldn't recommend bringing a pushchair unless it's designed for off-road terrain. During the storytelling there is no space inside the yurt to shelter pushchairs from the elements. The car park is right next to the yurt so we recommend collecting pushchairs after the storytelling to use on the walking part of the quest.
Inside the yurt, chairs will be available for grown-ups, with cosy cushions, beanbags and blankets for children to sit on during the storytelling. If you have any particular seating or access needs, please contact us before booking so we can discuss how best to help.
All children must be accompanied and supervised by an adult throughout the storytelling and outdoor quest. Children cannot be dropped off or left unattended
